Doylestown is a borough and the county seat of Bucks County. Its population is approximately 8,400. Since the mid-1700's, the borough has served as a major crossroads in a largely agricultural area. Doylestown was officially incorporated as a borough in 1838. Currently, the borough is home to many locations on the National Register of Historic Places, including The Doylestown Historic District, Pugh Dungan House, Fonthill and the Mercer Museum.
