Laverock is a small unincorporated community, with part being in Springfield Township and part in Cheltenham Township. The community is named after Arthur E. Newbold's Colonial-Revival-style mansion and estate. "Laverock" was demolished in 1956, and split-level houses were eventually built on the land. Today, it's a residential-only neighborhood known for an abundance of large black oak trees.
